Mother Firefly, nicknamed 'Mother' or 'Mama' by Otis is the mother to Vera-Ellen or Baby, Rufus, Earl Firefly and Tiny Firefly, and the adoptive mother of Otis B. Driftwood. Around the fall of 1947, Captain Spaulding met Mother Firefly, who at the time took the alias Eve Wilson. She already had two children at the time, Rufus and Tiny. Spaulding lived with Eve Wilson, even raising their daughter Vera Ellen together. Mother Firefly shows strong bonds with her children throughout both films. In House Of 1000 Corpses, Mother Firefly shows herself to be rather sadistic. For example, when Baby tells Otis to take the gag out from one of the victims, Mother adds I like that too. That screaming is much more exciting that way . In the film, she also shows herself to be very flirtatious with her victims. For example, she says Goodbye, sweetie. We could've been great, before her victims death. Six months after the 'House of 1000 Corpses' events, the Firefly farm is raided by Sheriff John Quincy Wydell. Mama stays with Rufus, who is shot dead. When the sheriff arives, she tries to commit suicide by shooting herself, but fires a blank and is taken into custody. During his attempt to interrogate Mother Firefly for the whereabouts with her kin, she reveals that she murdered his brother George (in House of 1000 Corpses) saying I feel contrite about blowin' his brains out. Later, after having dreams of his brother urging him to avenge him, Wydell stabs Mother Firefly to death. Show less «
