Modesty was adopted by a cruel woman who hates anyone who has magic. Modesty fantasies what it would be like to have magic but hides it cause of her cruel mother . Modesty has her own wand, (uncertain where she got it or even if she has magic) and of course hides it from everyone. Her mother forces all children to hand out fliers to bring back the witch trials so that she can watch all those with magic be killed off for having magic.When the wand is discovered, her big brother protects her by claiming it to be his. Not wanting to watch him get beaten again for something he didn't do or have, Modesty confesses that the wand was actually hers. In order to protect her, her big brother unleashes a great deal of magical powers against the mother . However, not being trained in how to use it or even control it, the brother unleashes much more that he was aware of.A terrifying Modesty runs off and hides. When found, the big brother wasn't about to let an evil wizard take advantage of her the way the evil wizard had deceived him. Thus once again unleashing a great deal of power. However, this time after being hurt emotionally and feeling betray by someone he thought he could trust, the big brother flew off with his terrifying power.
