Mitchie Torres is a teen with an extraordinary voice and a driving ambition to be a pop singer who wants to spend her summer at a prestigious rock camp. Unfortunately, an expensive music camp is a bit out of reach for her family, but her mother gets a job as Camp Rock's cook so that Mitchie can attend as long as she helps out in the kitchen between classes.Mitchie wants to fit in at camp, so she befriends the 'popular girl', Tess Tyler and lies about who she really is, saying that her mother is the president of a music company when she is really the camp cook. She soon realizes being a back-up singer isn't something that she wants to do, and she instead becomes friends with Caitlyn Gellar, the eccentric and social outcast, but also the extremely talented dancer and mixer.Mitchie befriends Shane Gray, the international pop star sent away to Camp Rock for the summer for a major attitude adjustment. Shane likes Mitchie, since he can just be himself when they're together and not 'Shane Gray: Superstar .Tess figures out that Mitchie lied about her mother and decides to take her down in front of the entire camp, including Shane, by humiliating her and making her cry. Shane's trust with Mitchie collapses, leaving her with one real friend, Caitlyn. The two plan to perform in Final Jam together, which worries Tess - she's worried that they might actually have a chance to beat her. To ensure her win, she plants her charm bracelet in Mitchie's things and tells Brown that she stole them, banning Mitchie and Caitlyn from camp activities until the end of Final Jam.Mitchie and Caitlyn find the loophole in the situation - at the end of Final Jam, they realize that they can indeed perform, but aren't technically eligible to win. She sings her song This Is Me and Shane finally finds the girl he's been looking for all summer, the girl with the voice and the song. Everything that happened with them is forgotten immediately and he goes onstage to sing with her. They end up holding hands. In Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, Mitchie returns with a new look - black hair in loose curls. She's ready for another summer and extremely anxious to see Shane again, since they've been texting all year long. Mitchie is thrilled to learn that Shane and his brothers are back for the whole summer.Mitchie learns that another camp has opened across the lake and is planning to take down Camp Rock; she challenges them to a battle without really thinking about it first and then makes it her mission to lead Camp Rock to victory against Camp Star. This leaves her with an overfilled schedule and no time for Shane, creating a great deal of conflict between them.Shane and Mitchie do make up after one of their worst fights (right before Wouldn't Change a Thing) and being to make time to spend together. As the Final Jam closes in, they arrange a duet for their performance. They put on their best show yet, and lose. Mitchie is heartbroken, and back at Camp Rock, she is comforted by Shane. She apologizes that they spent no time together, and Shane says not to be, because he learned everything he needed to know about Mitchie.Mitchie kisses Shane for the first time. They proceed to their final campfire, holding hands and singing together. Mitchie and Shane seem quite stricken with each other. There is definitely possibility for a third movie with Mitchie!
