Mike is married to Valerie, a mortal woman whom he has known for many, many years. Hes a builder; a practical, no-nonsense, kind of guy with a very strong moral code. Mike takes life very seriously too seriously sometimes because sometimes he feels like the weight of the world has been placed on his shoulders.Mikes God-like power is derived from Ullr, the God of skill, hunt and duel. Essentially this translates, in modern terms, as never take on this man at board games, darts or sundry other trivial forms of man-to-man competition. Mike can beat just about anyone at anything from Scrabble to snooker; from poker to Playstation. As watered-down super-powers go, at least this one has an element of both fun and the ability to generate income. But Mike chooses to do nothing with his powers. He is the staunchest advocate of the we must never use our powers school of thought. He is, in fact, staunch about this very thing to the point of obsession. This is because he is the keeper of the secret. He knows what being Gods did to his parents; how it ripped them apart. And he knows, more than any of them, the dangers of using his godlike powers.Fit in, fly under the radar; dont stand out from the crowd these are the rules Mike lives by. And live by these rules he so very has to an almost monastic extreme. Hes fashioned a life way out in the suburbs, so low-key anyone would think he was in a witness protection program.Mike has had leadership and responsibility put upon him and, for the most part, he has dealt with this well albeit with a stoicism that sometimes makes the other Johnson boys (especially Axl) want to slap him and tell him to chill out, have some fun. But the price hes paid for doing his duty is that he has mistaken what hes living through, for an actual life. This is about to change as Axls 21st comes and goes, and the baby brother/de-facto son becomes the one God who can change Mikes world forever.
