Little is known about Mickey Rosa past, but he ended up part of a team of card counters. This team was able to take a mathematical formula already devised and perfect it, so that it was almost infallible. These techniques involved decided the count of the blackjack dealer's deck and then signaling to other team members in the area when the deck count was high. These signals were as simple as coming up with a word to represent each number (stool=3, luck=7, witch=13, ect) and then using them to tell the person betting the count of the deck so that they could make a huge profit from their bets. Later on in life he was blacklisted, meaning that he was banned from casinos, after his techniques were discovered. Later on in life he went on to teach at MIT to students who were interested in learning the same counting techniques. By teaching these students he was able to then fund the team and still make money without stepping inside a casino. Shortly after building a new team, he was kicked off by the betting members who decided to do it on their own. After the team eventually met its downfall from its own problems, they came back to Rosa for advice on what to do. He set them back on their course and continued to fund the team from that point on.
