Michael Stivic's background is relatively unknown. He was born and raised in Chicago in 1948 of Polish descent who's parents died in an auto accident while he was a child and raised by his uncle, Casimir Stivic. He met his future wife Gloria when she was an employee at the drugstore she worked at.Mike was a social liberal and socialist, but never a declared communist. He was dressed as a stereotypical hippie when he first met Archie with a beard and tye-died shirt, but later shaved off the beard and kept the mustache. He often wore button-down shirts, jeans, and boots keeping a more respectable appearance.Michael lived with the Bunker family during his college years until 1975, when he accepted an associate professor position and rented the Jefferson's house next door. He and Gloria remained in the home until 1978 when he was promoted and accepted a position at UCSB. He and Gloria moved there.After having moved to California, he and Gloria had a troubled marriage. He worked long hours and Gloria had cheated on him with a fellow colleague soon afterwards. They made up, but a year later, Michael had participated in a nude protest that got him fired from his job, with Gloria having been part of it.Michael and Gloria had divorced in 1981 with Mike having become a society dropout marrying one of his students and supposedly keeping his job as a teacher.Nothing more has been revealed about Mike's future, except he's still alive in 2017 and apparently retired and still living in California.
