Michael James Caffee returned to The Hill after a 7 year absence. He killed the lesbian sister of Paddy, because she had molested a teenaged girl. After Paddy was killed by a construction worker, Michael was able to return. We discover, that Michael paid to have Paddy killed, so he could return.A criminal and sociopath, Michael grew up on the streets of Providence, living a life of crime, to support his family. Considers himself a good man, he lives by a code of honor, and has a plan, or purpose, for every action that occurs. Michael's friend Pete, is there to welcome him back, and return to their lives of crime. His character changes with each Season. Season One finds him cunning and manipulative, trying to regain control of the Irish Mob in Providence. The Boss, while Michael was away, is Freddie Cork. The ending of Season One, Michael is brutally beaten, and left for dead. The hit was originally planned by Freddie, 2B carried out by Moe Riley. A drunken Declan does the dirty deed.Season Two finds Michael struggling with TBI (traumatic brain injury), while trying to function within his Irish mob. His best friend, Pete, is murdered, and Michael is left alone, until the arrival of his cousin, Colin. Michael turns informant for Ellis Franklin, in an attempt to become King of the Hill. Michael sets up Freddie Cork, who ends up in prison. Michael becomes head of the Irish Mob. A rift begins at the end of Season two, between the brothers, Michael and Tommy.Season three, Michael, decides to discontinue the medication he needs for his TBI. This leads Michael to a mirage of mental problems, including paranoia, and bouts of spontaneous violence. Michael is no longer capable of being the Boss of the Irish Mob, and with no support, he spirals out of control. By the series finale, and events set in motion during the third Season, Michael is forced to flee Providence, again. This time, I feel, for good. Michael had turned to illegal drugs during the third Season, which was totally out of character for him. He was unable to sleep, so he constantly took uppers to help him cope.I hope this brief biography helps...I've tried to explain Michael, during the 3 Seasons..
