Lorelei is the young female trapeze artist in Lord Barnaby's circus who was admired by the lead character later named Igor. During her performance, she fell from the air due to faulty ropes and was rescued by Igor and Victor and then sent to Chiswick Hospital for treatment and recovery. She was visited by Igor in the hospital while unconscious. Upon discharge from the hospital, Lorelei became sponsored by a benefactor, Baron Bomine, to perform in his cabaret and to appear as his consort in social events, during one of which she encountered Igor again, then befriended him, attended his Gordon demonstration, invited him to a ball and the two eventually became intimate. She nursed Igor after his escape from Finnegan's men and helped him gain entry into Erskine Castle in Scotland to warn Victor against Finnegan's motives for funding the experiments. She was apprehended by Inspector Turpin outside Castle Erskine, but later reunites with Igor after Turpin's demise. According to the actress Jessica Brown Findlay who portrayed her, Lorelei questions the moral aspects for Victor and Igor's experiments and provides emotional intelligence to Igor - she knew Igor while he was being mistreated and misjudged in the circus and was excited for him when he was later allowed to use his real skills - his mind and passion for science and anatomy (but she still warned Igor against being bullied by Victor); her trapeze accident served as the catalyst to the start of events in the film.
