CSI: Crime Scene Investigation CBS Television NetworkSeason Nine- 2008, Episode Five:LEAVE OUT ALL THE REST - When the CSI team investigates a case involving the world of domination, Grissom pays a visit to Lady Heather to help find some answers.Over several earlier episodes as well as this one, CSI has written the role of Lady Heather Kessler, dominatrix extraordinaire, in a sensitive and realistic way. Damaged by her own personal tragedy, and in spite of what she imagines as a betrayal of their friendship (in an earlier episode) she nonetheless shows herself a loyal friend to our CSI hero, Gil Grissom (William Petersen). Lady Heather's portrayal deserves kudos for it's restraint and intelligent subtext; she is hardly one-dimensional. And Melinda Clarke's performance as a professional dominatrix rises above caricature and injects humanity into a role that could have been played for sensationalism alone. The above episode is the culmination of a series of episodes featuring a sex positive (and mostly correct!!!) portrayal of that least understood of the bondage and discipline scene regulars, the Dominant Woman.
