James 'Hunter' Montgomery is a teenage boy who ran away from home due to neglect by his own mother, who turned him on to male prostitution in order to help her pay the bills. After living life on the streets as a teen hustler, Hunter is taken in by gay couple Michael Novotny and his partner, professor Ben Bruckner; the couple even decides to adopt 'Hunter' legally. At first, Hunter believes he is gay, but eventually realizes he is heterosexual. However, his former life as a prostitute complicates matters when he learns that he is HIV+.
