Gunny Highway is a USMC veteran that by the time of Grenada in 83 has been the Corps since the Korean War where he and others fought on Heartbreak Ridge against severe odds. He then served in tours in Vietnam and the Dominican Republic in 65. He earned the CMH as they call it in this movie, or the Medal of Honor but by the time of the Grenada emergency he is considered a relic by his ineffectual superior. He straightens out a smart arse laden platoon to become good fighters. His role is assisted by aggressive one liners that are fantastic and tempered by a still burning desire for his ex wife who is working near his latest base. Get that stogey contraband out of my face Sergeant or I'll shove it so far up yr arse you'll have to set fire to yr nose to light it ! His time with his men in Grenada is largely a success although he does lose a man. He gets off the plane back from the Carribean to meet his ex who is willing to give it another try. Show less «
