Francine Parker is the assistant station manager to Givens, who is helping WGON-TV to control the public's mass hysteria at the beginning of the film. She is a young divorcee and the girlfriend to Stephen Andrews, who comes to rescue her and take her with his friend Roger to somewhere safe. However, Frannie's idea of safety is someplace secluded in the mountains, but when the men settle on the Monroeville Hyper-Mall, she quickly reveals why she is not happy being besieged by the undead for the rest of her life. Although she comes across as a dead weight or even weak for the first part of the film, she quickly goes on to prove that she has good reason to be strong and to help in the fight against the living dead!
