Fermat is Alan's best friend and the son of Brains. He acts as Alan's own brain sometimes reminding him to examine a situation more carefully before he acts. Fermat likes thinking but the actual physical act of doing something is hard for him. He stutters just like his father and looks like him too. His nerdy ways separate him from most children his age.
