Esther was born as Leena Klammer in Estonia in 1976, and was 33 years old. She suffered from hypopituitarism, which causes proportional dwarfism. As a result, she spent most of her life pretending to be a child to find a family that would love her.She is a woman who could be defined as a violent and deluded psychopath. She is highly intelligent, highly manipulative, superficially charming when needed, and lacks remorse. She can easily induce fear, empathy, and even admiration when it suits her ambitions. She has extreme talent in music and art, and is able to learn languages very quickly. She was eventually placed in a mental institution called The Saarne Institute.She was one of Saarne's most violent patients, forcing the staff to keep her in a straitjacket that she was constantly fighting to get out of. Continued struggling against her restraints caused permanent scarring on her wrists and neck, and she wears ribbons to hide the scars.After escaping from Saarne and ending up in an orphanage, she eventually tricked an American family into adopting her, and tried to seduce the father, and when she failed, she killed him and his family and set fire to their house.When adopted by the Colemans, Kate suspected that something wasn't right, but her husband refused to believe her until just before he was stabbed and killed. Dr. Varava from the Saarne Institute called Kate after she emailed her picture and he told her the horrifying truth about Esther.
