Erica Albright is a fictitious Boston University student who dated Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg at least once.In the first scene of The Social Network, she and Zuckerberg sit at a noisy Cambridge bar drinking beer. Above the din, their conversation starts friendly, then degrades into calumny as Zuckerberg brags about his 1600 SAT scores and expresses his disdain for less intelligent people and Boston University students. In anger, Erica declares an end to her relationship with Zuckerberg and walks out of the bar.Zuckerberg goes back to his dorm room and posts a derogatory message about Erica on his blog, noting that her family name was changed from Albrecht. Inspired, he then creates FaceMash, a computer application to allow users to compare the attractiveness of one woman to another. In the last scene of The Social Network, Zuckerberg discovers that Erica Albright now has a Facebook page. He pauses, then clicks Add as Friend. He then repeatedly refreshes her page, perhaps hoping for a status update.Screenplay author Aaron Sorkin has said that Erica Albright was a name he made up, and the girl Zuckerberg was mad at the night he designed Facemash had a completely different name. Several websites speculate on the girl's true identity.Albright is portrayed in the film by actress Rooney Mara, who is best known for her roles in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Youth in Revolt and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
