Robert Chase in an intensivist. He was hired by House a year before the pilot.Robert Chase's father, Rowan, left Robert to take care of his alcoholic mother when he was 8. Rowan saw Chase when he was at PPTH to see Wilson because of lung cancer, but he didn't tell Chase he had cancer. Chase found out Rowan died two months later when he got a phone call from his stepmother from Australia. He also found out that Rowan had removed him from his will.At the season 3 finale, House fired him from his team and, at the beginning of the forth season, it was revealed that he still worked at PPTH as a surgeon. In the third season, he starts having a relationship with Dr. Allison Cameron. The two got engaged in Saviors when Chase proposed to Cameron in the hospital's locker room after a very brief break up. They got married in the season 5 finale but in Teamwork Cameron left Chase after he told her he murdered a patient. He was rehired to House's team in that same episode.A good doctor, and a valued member of House's diagnostic team, he seems to be very much like House in his way of thinking and working. It is shown throughout the series that he possesses adequate abilities to be a good successor for House, this theme being especially exploited in the final season of the show, when Chase eventually takes House's place as head of Diagnostics at PPTH.
