James Watson was a Victorian aged intellectual who was part of The Five. The Five, (Dr Helen Magnus, James Watson, John Druitt, Nigel Griffin, Nikola Tesla) pursued knowledge and the sciences. In their pursuits they found out that humans were not the only sentient life forms on the planet. In addition, there were thousands of other abnormal life forms on the planet. The group found some vampire blood and decided to test it on themselves. Watson's gift was increased intellectual acuity. Unlike his colleagues his gift did not provide him with a longer life span. However, his intellect did allow him to create a machine extended his life to over 150 years.Watson has been a great friend of the Sanctuary and of Magnus over the century.
