Darlene Conner is the athletic, tom-boyish, younger daughter of Dan and Roseanne Conner. Her favorite sports are exchanging sharp wittisisms with her mother, beating on her little brother, D. J., and making fun of her older sister, Becky, during her high school years, she becomes moody, artistic, an animal rights activist and a vegetarian, during her freshman year of high school, she becomes friends with and dates David Healy, the younger brother of Mark, they both apply for college, but only Darlene gets accepted into an art school in Chicago, which Roseanne lets her attend realizing its her only chance to get out of Lanford, while in college, David and Darlene live together in Chicago for three months, but get caught by Roseanne, while dating David she also dates a boy she met in college named Jimmy, David makes Darlene choose, and she chooses Jimmy breaking David's heart, Jimmy breaks up with Darlene when he couldn't get close to her, and she grows up and realises David's the one she really wants to be with, they reconcile, and eventually marry as well as having a prematurely born baby that almost dies,Harris Conner Healy.
