Daniel Kintner (last name is on a dive card ID near the end) is married to Susan Watkins. On a much-needed vacation in the Caribbean, they head out with a group to a dive site in the open ocean. Due to a faulty head count taken by the dive boat crew, Daniel & his wife are left behind, surrounded my miles of ocean. As they battle dehydration, the blazing sun, and jellyfish, they soon find themselves threatened by another menace - sharks! Daniel is struck first by the sharks, and his leg is badly bitten. Susan manages to improvise a tourniquet & slow the loss of blood from a bad bite, but the sharks stay in the general area. That night, a thunderstorm sweeps across the ocean, and even worse, the sharks begin hitting Daniel again & again, in response to the bleeding coming from his wound. By morning, it is apparent that Daniel has died in Susan's arms during the night from shark attack. Susan sadly lets him go, and watches with terror as the sharks take Daniel's body. With no hope of rescue, Susan eventually surrenders herself to the deep, rather than meet a fate similar to Daniel's. Show less «
