Dale is a 900 pound man. He has been a guest character on 3 separate occasions played by 3 separate actors. Every time he appears on the show, while still unable to move out of bed, is in a different location. He is a disgusting, pathetic man. When Trudy was still alive, The Whale was black mailing her and cost The Monks a lot of money causing them to sell their house and move into Mr. Monk's current apartment. All of this information is revealed in Dale's first appearance in the case of a murdered judge in 2002. Monk then meets Dale again in prison where we see him in the most lavish cell possible. The third and final time we meet Mr. Biederbeck, he is still imprisoned but this time in a very dank cell. This time, as opposed to the first two, Dale is played by a relatively unknown actor.
