Carolyn Hill is the mother of 16-year-old Norrie and wife of Alice Calvert, who is diabetic and decides to stop in Chester's Mill for juice. Carolyn and Alice are taking their daughter to a tough love camp when the dome comes down. They are dismissive of Big Jim's warnings to stop their car until they see a truck crash into the dome.They rush Norrie to the medical clinic after her seizure and Carolyn's desire to get out from under the dome is mostly motivated out of concern for her daughter.But even as they realize there is no way out of the strange town, they also discover that they already know the people of Chester's Mill better than they ever knew their neighbors in California.
