The premier young Klingon warrior Captain Klaa (Played by actor Todd Bryant) wanted to make a name for himself and move to the upper ranks of the Klingon military. His intense desire to achieve this goal, along with the talent bestowed upon him by the Klingon Gods, made him a force to be reckoned with. On one fateful day, while Captain Klaa was shooting target practice on the USA space probe Pioneer, which he considered to be space junk, his ships crew intercepted a transmission from the Starship Enterprise. Klaa was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Enterprise commander was none other than Captain James T Kirk. Klaa had always admired Captain Kirk and knew that if he could capture, or kill the Captain of the Enterprise, he would be praised by his superiors in the Klingon Empire and become the greatest Klingon warrior in the galaxy. After intercepting the Enterprise transmission, Captain Klaa immediately ordered his crew to fly his Klingon Bird of Prey to Nimbus 3, where the Enterprise and Captain Kirk were in route. When Captain Klaa closed in on his destination, his ship was cloaked or invisible in order to surprise the starship Enterprise and Captain Kirk. But Kirk was on a shuttle returning to the Enterprise from Nimbus 3. As Klaas Bird of Prey moved in for the kill on the Starship Enterprise he learned that Kirk was on the shuttle which was moving toward the Enterprise. Klaa immediately responded to attack the shuttle, but Captain Kirk had already figured that Klaas Bird of Prey was moving in and took evasive action. Klaa had the shuttle in his periscopic sight and just as he was about to fire, the shuttle accelerated toward the Enterprise! Klaa then aimed to fire on the Enterprise but just as Captain Kirk and his shuttle crew crash landed inside the Enterprise loading dock, the Enterprise took off at warp speed. Klaas photon torpedo missed the Enterprise. Captain Klaa then realized what he already knew, that he was dealing with a seasoned veteran in Captain Kirk. Captain Klaa exclaimed Damn, hes good. But Captain Klaa was not finished hunting down the legendary Captain Kirk. Klaa pursued the Enterprise once more and found them. Klaa got the drop on the Starship Enterprise and engaged communication with Mr. Spock. Klaa demanded that Captain Kirk be handed over to him and if so, he would spare the Enterprise and the lives of her crew. But responding to a desperate plea from Spock, Captain Klaas superior ranking officer, General Korrd intercepted Captain Klaa, saving the Enterprise from being destroyed. General Korrd eventually forced Captain Klaa to apologize to Captain Kirk against his will. There are rumors that Captain Klaa was eventually demoted and assigned to be the Klingon courtroom translator in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, but this is simply not true. The actor who played Captain Klaa (Todd Bryant) was actually hired to play the courtroom translator because of his skill in speaking the Klingon Language.
