A small town cowboy from Spur Texas who moves to Houston to find employment in an oil refinery where his uncle Bob works.In Spur he was an insulator but in Houston He was a roustabout.Bud is a cowboy of good morals,he is part Indian from his mother's side which explains his dark features, hard headed,proud,likes women,dancing and drinking,and won't hesitate to fight when the situation arises.He marries a local barfly Sissie,and settles in a near by trailer court.They break up temporarily and Bud has a fling with an uptown trust fund playgirl Pam who has an apartment downtown,and whos dad is in the oil business.Bud often talks about buying land in Spur,wins a rodeo contest and reunites with Sissie.
