Bill Forbes is the father of Caroline Forbes, living with his partner Stephen. He came to the show after finding out that Caroline was turned into a vampire. He thought he could train her not to follow her vampire instincts. He tortured her for a little while until her mother (Sheriff Forbes) and her boyfriend (werewolf turned hybrid Tyler Lockwood) rescued her. He then left the show for a little bit only to return later to try and help Tyler break his sire bond with Klaus. While trying to help Tyler he gets attacked (by a werewolf Tyler), and ends up in the emergency room of the hospital. Doctor Fell gives him some vampire blood to save his life and it works. Bill however, is not grateful for her methods of saving his life. Being a member of a founding family and once being a part of The Council he believes vampires to be evil and unnatural. While he still has vampire blood in him, someone (Alaric' alter-ego) murders him. He awakens as a vampire but refuses to complete the transition and therefore he dies. Show less «
