Beth Calavicci is the wife of Adm. Al Calavicci, and was a nurse for the Navy. When Al is declared MIA in Vietnam, Beth believes that he is dead, and remarries, leaving Al heartbroken. However, in the final episode, Sam goes back in time, changing history so that Beth waits for Al to be released from the POW camp.Details(http://quantumleap.wikia.com/wiki/Beth_Calavicci): Beth Calavicci is Al's wife and the only woman Al has ever really loved. In the original history, Beth thought that Al was killed in the Vietnam war and married another man. This made Al very upset, and his life began going downward. She was a US Navy nursing officer while Al was a pilot. They married in 1961, but due to their differing duty assignments they only cohabited for a total of 2 years before the end of the decade. On Al's second tour of duty in Vietnam, he was shot down and taken captive; Beth had no way of knowing if he was still alive. Whilst serving at the Naval Hospital in San Diego in April of 1969, a very lonely Beth met Dirk Simon and fell in love. Dirk, a lawyer, convinced Beth to declare her (presumed) lost husband legally dead and file for a divorce from him. A few months later, the two marry. Before leaping into the unknown, Sam Beckett leaped back to 1969 as himself to inform Beth that Al was not dead and was coming home. As a result, history was changed. Beth never remarried; she and Al had four daughters.Sam, however changed this in Mirror Image. So Beth is currently married to Al and has four daughters with him.
