Arthur Curtis (Howard Duff) is the business executive who finds one day that his office is a movie set and that he's only an actor named Gerry Reagan--who is playing Arthur Curtis in a film--in The Twilight Zone episode, A World of Difference. What exactly happens to Arthur Curtis/Gerry Reagan? Assuming a supernatural explanation, there are two possibilities. One: Arthur Curtis really is a business executive who briefly crossed over into another world and merged with an actor named Gerry Reagan, who was playing him in a movie. Two: Gerry Reagan's fantasy that he is Arthur Curtis became so powerful that he found a supernatural way of escaping into this fictional character's world. Rod Serling's narration, which talks of escape, hints strongly at the latter possibility.Arthur Curtis has a sweet, loving wife who can manage a home and a family. He has a good job and an efficient secretary. He has a pretty daughter named Tina. Gerry Reagan is a drunk with a harpy for an ex-wife and a career in movies that is nearly finished. If these are two men who supernaturally became one, then Gerry Reagan got the better part of the deal.
