Art Blank's first appearance in the Saw franchise was in Saw IV, we learned he was a close friend and lawyer to John. However, after gaining knowledge of who Art defended in court, pimps, rapists, ect. Their friendship ended.Art had virtually 2 traps, 1 along with the man named Trevor known as the Mausoleum Trap in which Art's mouth had been sewn shut rendering him mute, and Trevor's eyes sewn shut rendering him blind. In the middle of them was a winding machine with a chain passing through the middle connecting the two men. The keys had been on the backs of their necks fixed to their collar's. Art, realizing this attempted to take it but instead gave Trevor a bit of rage. Art ultimately killed trevor with hitting him over the head multiple times to take his key.The second, in the warehouse with Eric Matthews and Detective Hoffman, watching over them, so to speak. But later when Rigg bursts through the door and shoots Art, however during which Eric had shot Rigg making both of them fall to the ground. After Art is reaching into a bag to pull out a tape to show Rigg that it was a test and that he wasn't the apprentice. Rigg mistakes the tape for a gun and shoots Art in the head.
