Aron Ralston is a rock climber and mountaineer born on October 27, 1975. The film '127 Hours' is based off his story. In April 2003 he was hiking through Blue John Canyon when a rock came loose and rolled onto his arm trapping him. He resorted to desperate measures to survive including drinking his own urine. He used a dull pocket knife to try and chip away at the boulder but it would not budge. After six days of recording himself with his camera and having premonitions of his future son he managed to break the bones in his trapped arm and used his knife to successfully amputate his arm. He then hiked as far as he could before a family found him and saved his life. Aron still hikes and climbs now.Aron is now married and has a son, Leo, who was born in February 2010. Show less «
