Annabeth Schott joins the administration of President Josiah Jed Bartlet as Deputy Press Secretary for Media Relations. A graduate of the University of Maryland, she is frequently required to brief the press, through she is never comfortable with the proceedings (rather, she prefers to coach Toby to take a more aggressive role in handling the media). Later, she forms a very close bond with Leo -- both on a professional and personal level, which doesn't go unnoticed in the relatively small world of Washington D.C. politics.
