Before anyone finds out she is pregnant, she begins dating Ben Boykewich. Amy and Ben fall for one another and even though she is pregnant, he does not care. Amy has a baby boy in the season one final, whom her sister names John.As season two opens, Amy is struggling to be a teenage mother and a student at the same time. She is exhausted most of the time and tries to unload her responsibilities on others. While getting help is fine, being a child herself, she seems to think help means do everything for me. Amy finds out she has to take summer school to complete freshman year and is upset to be stuck at home while Ben goes off to Italy.
