Born and raised in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Zack Conroy did not originally intend to become an actor. In fact, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Boston College in Finance and Management. However, after doing some commercials for Pizza Hut and New Balance and modeling for Kenneth Cole, Conroy decided to try his hand at showbiz. In 2008, he landed his first professional acting job and guest starred on Gossip Girl (2007). Soon after, he appeared on the soap opera As the World Turns (1956) which then lead to his first series regular role: he joined stumbling daytime drama The Guiding Light (1952). Although James Spaulding was a member of a core family of the series and Conroy would eventually receive a 2010 Daytime Emmy Award nomination as Best Younger Actor, he couldn't overcome the show's cancellation in September 2009. Conroy didn't stay unemployed for very long as he was hired in 2010 as fashion photographer Oliver Jones for The Bold and the Beautiful (1987). Conroy soon made waves as he was thrown into the now infamous "Posé"-storyline in which his character accidentally slept with his girlfriend's mother. Despite being taken off-contract in 2012, Conroy continued to appear on the show until 2015, even crossing over to sister-show The Young and the Restless (1973) in 2013 for several episodes. In addition to his acting career, Conroy has returned to his academic roots graduating from UCLA in June 2015 with a Master's degree in Business Administration.
