Screenwriter Yogesh Vinayak Joshi was born in Mumbai, India. Between 1993 and 1999, his creative beginnings were nurtured in the vivacious Marathi experimental theater scene of suburban Mumbai. He wrote many one-act plays and actively participated in various theater workshops held in the National Center for Performing Arts, Dinanath Natya Gruha and other experimental theaters in Mumbai, India.In 2000-2002, he was the co-writer of the highly acclaimed film, Hava Aney Dey (Let the Wind Blow) by Partho Sen-Gupta, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and went on to screen and win awards at several prestigious international festivals and was selected by the Global Film Initiative for the Global Lens 2008 line-up. He then co-wrote Mumbai Meri Jaan which was nominated for the Asia-Pacific Screen Awards for Best Screenplay and won India's 2008 Filmfare Award and the 2008 CineBlitz Award for Best Screenplay. He is the writer of Tendulkar Out, due to be released at the end of 2011. He has also written the script of Varkatunda Mahakay directed by Punarvasu.
