William Motunuu was born in Auckland, New Zealand to immigrant parents who come from Vailoa, Aleipata and Fogapoa and Tuasivi, Samoa. His parents were pastors of a Pentecostal church which led his family to move quite frequently, eventually residing in Brisbane, Australia. He grew up singing and dancing in church but didn't pursue performing until he graduated from Grace Lutheran College, 2011. In 2015 he made the move to Sydney where he graduated from ED5 International and is now proudly represented by T&E Management in Australia.William has established a presence on screens and stages both nationally and internationally, small and large. He has worked as a backing vocalist and dancer on The Voice (2016), The Footy Show (2016), Carols in the Domain (2016/17) along side Australian artists Delta Goodrem, Bobby Fox, Paulini Curuenavuli, Prinnie Stevens and International artist Gizzle.His breakthrough role was playing Seaweed in Harvest Rains Hairspray with Simon Gallaher (2012), leading to playing Carlos in Legally Blonde the Musical (2013) and Teen angel in Grease (2014). Most recently playing the role of Barry Belson in Jersey Boys the Musical (2019).Other credits include Television Commercials Coca Cola - New Zealand (2018), Subway (2018), Rest Superannuation (2018), Bank West (2018), Suncorp (2019) and Woolworths (2019).
