William Lewis is a writer, producer/director, musician, civil rights advocate, and award winning independent filmmaker specializing in producing patriotic-style documentaries that expose governmental abuse of power and focus viewers on a wide range of grassroots solutions. He began his career in the steamy blues and gospel filled streets of Shreveport, Louisiana working with legendary music producer Stan Lewis of Jewel Records. Working with Stan, Lewis designed cover art for over 300 music artists such as Nat Stuckey, B B King, Ike and Tina Turner, and Jerry Beach, just to name a few. As a music writer and producer in the 1990's, he worked along side Anne Stuckey, wife of the late country singer Nat Stuckey and actor John Fertitta (actor: Mississippi Burning, Blaze, Delta Heat). He also developed a state-of-the-art digital video production facility. In 2001, Lewis began producing American Freedom News, an international radio program dealing with issues surrounding the intrusive nature of global government. In the same vein, he assisted in creating TruNews, a nationally syndicated television news program, which he produced and directed. His ongoing concern for the loss of our civil liberties at the hands of an out-of-control government prompted him to take his love of film and music to a whole new level. In 2003 he created William Lewis Films, a motion picture production company that has gained tremendous notoriety around the world for producing documentaries that expose high profile criminal transgressions and lift the veil of secrecy surrounding international misconceptions.Lewis has written and/or directed thirteen politically charged documentaries to date, two of which have won film festival awards. Some of these include; "911 In Plane Site," the award winning "Beyond Treason," "One Nation Under Siege," "911 Ripple Effect," "Washington, You're Fired," the award winning "Life on the Edge of a Bubble," "Camp FEMA," "Don't Tread On Me," "Enemy of the State," "Blood of Patriots," and most recently, "Peddling Influence."In 2006, Lewis' quest for bringing these important issues into the American mainstream prompted him to found Take Back Washington, a website and a political mindset to peacefully, and through education, bring the politics of Washington D.C. back into focus with our country's founding documents. Lewis is ever on the lookout for the next subject to expose to citizens around the world. As he says, "the truth isn't out there-it's right here..."
