Vicki Liston's fascination with creating, capturing, and enhancing voice recordings has followed her throughout her life. It all started with the big boxy cassette tape recorder she got for her fifth birthday and the first thrill of hitting the red 'record' button. Since then, she's gone on to accumulate impressive credits as a voice artist. Some of her clients include national level companies, such as AT&T, Pizza Hut, Chevron, Delta Dental, Hardee's, Carl's Jr, the LPGA Golf Association, and Wired Magazine as well as regional and small businesses, start-ups, and non-profits. Vicki has also expanded her range to include writing and producing content for popular websites and blogs, national publications, and 'edu-tainment' tutorials where she covers a broad spectrum of do-it-yourself and home improvement subjects. Most notably, her award-winning 'On The Fly...DIY', a video series of easy-to-follow, unique project tutorials for the casual DIYer has generated over a million views on YouTube, and also airs on Amazon Prime. The series has resulted in multiple highlights of Vicki as a national expert in the field. She's been featured in such prominent outlets as The New York Times, the Today Show, MSN, Family Handyman Magazine, Apartment Therapy, Best Life, Realtor, SimpleMost, DontWasteYourMoney, Google's Tangi platform, Hometalk, and more. 'On the Fly...DIY' allows her to engage in her passion for philanthropy where all proceeds earned from the show are donated to no-kill animal shelters and rescue organizations. While voice acting is her first love and primary focus, Vicki is also an accomplished singer and actress who performs on-camera as a host, in principal roles, and as support cast. She's appeared on-screen for Anheuser-Busch, Food Network's Restaurant: Impossible, in William H. Macy's 'The Layover', 20th Century Studios 'The Empty Man', the award-winning 'The Ghost Who Walks' currently on Netflix, and a plethora of commercials. She also has a recurring role as a host on Hometalk TV, which highlights many of 'On The Fly...DIY's projects but in a more 'live' format. Vicki's creative talents have also taken her to the illustrious stage of Carnegie Hall where her classically trained, four-octave coloratura soprano voice twice resonated within the famous music house. Her great love of the genre also extends into opera parody, which most recently inspired a rework of a Puccini aria into an original comedic piece about the Great Toilet Paper Rush of 2020. To accommodate the increased demand for her voice services, in 2019 Vicki founded Smart Mouth Voice Overs, LLC (SMVO), a tongue-in-cheek reference to her Mensa membership and the spectrum of 'intelligent to sassy' vocal qualities she creates. Of note, SMVO is a proud certified Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB), an approved government contract provider, and delivers audio recording and production services for commercials, e-learning applications, corporate narration, telephony applications, new media narration, training videos, app narration, and much more. The company operates a broadcast-level recording studio with state-of-the-art equipment and remote recording capabilities, with a mission to always exceed clients' expectations in both quality and time frame. When requested, Vicki also voices off-site where she almost always has the most exciting experiences, like the time she found herself recording in the exact studio previously used by Sir Paul McCartney...while just one floor below and at the same time, the amazing Lady Gaga was laying down tracks! Vicki was educated at the UMKC Conservatory of Music, where she graduated with a BA in Music with a concentration in audio engineering. While living overseas, she also earned a Master's degree in Management at American Military University (part of the American Public University System). She learned the art of voice over from Susan Berkley (the voice of Citibank and AT&T) and Moneen Daley (founder of Mo'Vibe Voice Overs) in New York City, and actively trains and coaches with Marc Cashman (Clio award and three-time 'Best Voices of the Year' winner) in Los Angeles. Vicki is represented by The Sheppard Agency (Austin, TX), Big Mouth Talent (Chicago, IL), Azalea Agency (St. Louis, MO), Talent Unlimited (Kansas City, MO), and Impressive Talent Agency (Urbana, MD).
