Tyreese Burnett, a native of Dayton, Ohio, was born on February 6, 1975. Tyreese is a graduate of Central State University where he received a B.A. in Communications Radio & Television. Upon graduation, Tyreese was selected as 1 of 6 out of 300 college graduates from across the U.S. hired to be a part of Turner Entertainment's T-2000 Program in Atlanta, Georgia. This 10-month program was structured to give participants exposure to many facets of Mass Media. This opportunity afforded Tyreese to work in Production and Marketing at the following networks: TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, Turner Production and Turner Classic Movies. Upon completion of the program, he was offered a Freelance Producer position at Turner Classic Movies.In 1993, Tyreese was introduced to the Radio world as "DJ T Smooth" on WCSU 88.9 FM in Ohio. His success while on the air received him and his on-air personality team the prestigious 1994 Black College Radio Station of the Year Award. While employed at Turner Entertainment, he produced and served as voice-over talent for many of the broadcast spots. This is when he caught the acting bug and decided to simultaneously pursue a career in acting. While in Atlanta, Tyreese was signed by one of the leading talent agencies to be represented for Film, TV, Commercial, Print and Voice-Over. Tyreese was cast in several industrials, voice-overs, and local commercials which include: Harcourt Horizons, Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, Bell South, Longhorn Steakhouse, Chick-Fil-A, TNT and TBS Superstation promos.The year 1999 became the turning point in Tyreese's life. He was cast as a Titan Football player in Walt Disney Pictures Remember the Titans (2000) starring Denzel Washington. Tyreese was also cast as a futuristic cop in the Steven Spielberg blockbuster Minority Report (2002) starring 'Tom Cruise'. Tyreese's most notable role was in 20th Century Fox Drumline (2002) starring Nick Cannon and Orlando Jones. He was cast as "Henry" the assistant band director of Dr. Lee (Orlando Jones' character). In August 2002, Tyreese relocated to Los Angeles to launch his career to the next level. Since relocating, he has appeared on NBC's Kingpin (2003), MTV's Neptunes remix of the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil" and has booked several National Commercials. Tyreese recently completed voice-over work on an Animated Series Pilot for Nickelodeon entitled Eggheads (2003). Also, he is scheduled to work on his next film, The Procrastinator starring Kel Mitchell and Tatyana Ali this fall.Tyreese is represented by Cinthia Becks at Alvarado Rey Agency.
