To make it in the cutting edge world of club DJs and re-mixers, one must be versatile, innovative, and adaptable. If you've been keeping up with the global club scene, then chances are that your ears have feasted on the potent blends of Dance, House and Tribal rhythms served up by the hard hitting Miami-based Tracy Young. The energetic and wildly creative Young has worked her magic on a repertoire of re-mixes. As one of a handful of accomplished re-mixers in the world, she has infused her signature style into the Latin rhythms of Enrique Iglesias, Gloria Estefan and Shakira, the eclectic sounds of the Pet Shop Boys and Simply Red, and has put a fierce dance spin on icons such as Christina Aguilera, Stevie Nicks, Paris Hilton, Chaka Khan, Cyndi Lauper, Mariah Carey and Madonna, administering a musical symphony to the smash hit "Music" that Billboard Magazine labeled an emotional masterpiece. More recently, she has re-mixed super-hot tracks for Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and Britney Spears. Not confined to the dance floor, Tracy was approached by Kunduru Music to create an entire album of remixed chill-out tracks from their Living Theater collection- Vols. 1 and 2. This venture rendered the eclectic Tracy Young Remixes Living Theater project. Released in the spring of 2003, the album is an excellent example of Tracy's talents as a re-mixer and producer and showcases her diverse, global influences. Tracy's path to becoming one of the first successful female DJs in the industry began in her hometown of Washington, DC while attending the University of Maryland. Her developing sound, at the time a unique style of mixing Hip-Hop, Funk and Old School launched her as one of the hottest DJs in DC, and landed her a mix-show on the Donnie Simpson Morning Show and several BET appearances on Rap City. In 1998, she relocated to Miami to work with Interscope Records and explore the booming music scene in South Beach. Her musical tastes and styles continued to evolve but her career turned the corner when she met club impresario Ingrid Casares and landed a residency at legendary South Beach club Liquid. Through respect, mutual admiration and a lasting friendship, Tracy and Ingrid developed a working relationship that allowed Tracy to deliver the beat and bring the house down for events including parties for Lenny Kravitz, The Smashing Pumpkins, Ricky Martin, Sean Puffy Combs, Russell Simmons, Cher, and numerous others. One such event, a millennium party attended by Madonna, would prove quite fateful. Madonna was so impressed with Young that she utilized her talents by asking Tracy to spin at her movie premiere for "The Next Best Thing" in New York, her CD release party for "Music" in LA, and even at she and Guy Ritchie's wedding reception in Scotland. With her artistic career in full swing and making several weekly club appearances, Tracy continued her work in radio. She became an instant success on Miami's number one-rated Power 96 morning show. She also pursued her TV career and appeared as the DJ on MTV's legendary show House of Style, hosted by Cindy Crawford, Rebecca Romijn and Daisy Fuentes. MTV was so thrilled with Tracy's performance that they hired her for numerous appearances on the ever-popular Sisqo's Shakedown. As Tracy's legion of fans increased, they began wanting more of "the Tracy Young experience." This naturally led to the creation of Ferosh Records, a label started by Tracy in 2003 to distribute her own music, along with other talent that she discovered. Tracy is now the planet's #1 most requested female DJ, headlining the world's biggest events, clubs, and parties. With the release of Danceculture 2 in April 2007 and an upcoming compilation for Nervous Records, she spends as much time in the studio as she does spinning. There's always something new in Tracy Young's world. See you on the dance floor!
