Award winning Dutch actor Torsten Colijn has acted in over 60 productions for film, television and theatre since the early 2000s and is known for Rose (2015), Beatrix, Orange Under Fire (2012), De Premier (2016).Torsten Colijn has been been nominated 'Best Ensemble Cast (short)' for his role in his first USA film production 'Leben - Life' by the 17th annual FirstGlance Film Festival Los Angeles.In 2017, Torsten has had quite a number of 'first times'. Next to his first nomination for an ensemble cast, for his first USA film production, Torsten had his first premiere in Canada, which was also his first opening film on a film festival ever.In February 2017, Torsten attended the Canada Independent Film Festival, in Montreal, on behalf of the producer of the Belgian drama film 'Rose' (2015), in which Torsten stars as the emphatic doctor Zachee who is determent to save the life of a young girl called 'Rose'. With 12 awards worldwide and 43 nominations so far, 'Rose' had its Canadian premiere in Montreal and the film had the honor of kicking of the film festival.Produced by the Belgian production company Move Me Productions, the short film 'Rose' tells the heart felt story of a young girl, 'Rose' (Rune Vandenbussche), who is suffering from a rare blood disease, aplastic anemia. Torsten Colijn plays the role of the emphatic doctor who is determent to save her life. A donor is needed urgently, but will it be found in time? When insurance companies refuse to pay for the necessary treatments, Rose and her mother Céline (Tanja Cnaepkens) lose their home and their life becomes a living hell.Torsten won the prize of 'Best Actor' 48 Hour Film Project Amsterdam 2010.Torsten was nominated for 'Best Actor' 48 Hour Film Project Cinekid Amsterdam 2012.Torsten has studied Acting for Film at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles.Torsten is being represented by Eric Stevens from Rainbow High Entertainment in Los Angeles.
