Born Toni DeRose in the late sixties, she went to live with her Grandparents who legally changed her name to Toni Curl. Raised in South Carolina, she attended Clarendon Hall Academy until graduation then continued her matriculation At USC. She then moved to New York City to study acting with Ruth Warrick then Stella Adler. Landing early roles in Feature films such as " Track 29" directed by Nicolas Roeg and "Staying Together" directed by Lee Grant, Moving then to Los Angeles permanently in 1989, to study with Jeff Corey led her to work with young Hollywood elite. Encouraged by her then agency APA to change her name, she officially became Toni DeRose again. Finding an early niche as a dialogue coach and off camera performer, she quickly gained notice on the Steven Bochco series "Murder One" where she received her first recurring role as a CNN reporter during Season One, she returned Season Two as hot office secretary Angela Rosetti. Returning to friends on the NBC series "Providence" and enjoying a five season run playing nurse Patrice Taylor found the actress pregnant during the last season.
