Tom Plumley grew up in the small town of Grass Valley, in Northern California. From riding motorcycles to karate class, he was an adventurous kid and was always willing to try something new. His parents Gayle and Doug began to notice he wouldn't take no for an answer, even being the youngest of 4 boys, Tom would always work his hardest to stand out. After years of playing outside in the forest, writing stories, and putting on karate shows at family reunions, he knew he was supposed to be an actor. In a town where the idea of acting as a career gets laughed off like an impossibility, Tom didn't take no for an answer. His freshman year of high school changed everything when The Young Actors Theater Camp owners Shawn Ryan and John Ainsworth visited the drama program to spread word about their exciting acting camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains. After 10 days in their summer program, he was hooked. Tom did every play, musical, sketch, and hosting job he could get his hands on. And he went back to camp 5 more times. When he was 17 he graduated high school and moved to Santa Barbara to dip his feet in a "big city." It only took 1 year of acting at a Community College to push him to the city of angels. Within months he landed his first commercial agent, which helped propel him into professional acting with a National Mcdonalds commercial.Since moving to L.A in 2012, Tom has become a Upright Citizens Brigade graduate, and studied with greats like Brad Greenquist, Lesly Kahn, David Gray at Graystudios. He is currently studying the Lyndon technique with Amy Lyndon. He is also a host for entertainment news channel Clevver.
