In these often emotive works, he explored the recurring theme of fairytales and the commodification of the nuclear family. Fjelsted soon segued into art direction for theater and commercial photography, and worked in multiple disciplines for a special fx company - where during off hours he wrote and directed his first film, The Firefly Man (2003), with producing partner Tim Matney. The award-winning animated short screened at over a dozen festivals, including Telluride, aired on The Sundance Channel, and has been included on best of fests dvd compilations. Fjelsted moved to Los Angeles in 2002, to work as an art director and production designer for film and television while developing his next film projects. Show less «
