His professional abilities, skills and work experience also connect the entertainment industry with the non-profit association world and travel/tourism and fitness industries.TJ hails from the great city of Chicago. He grew up in a 100% Sicilian/Italian-American family just outside of Chicago, IL (Rockford). His grandparents immigrated from Sicily to the USA via New Orleans in the early 1900's. They were a hard-working middle class family that was a perfect example of many immigrants during that era. He excelled in school, family-life and has always had an avid love for professional sports and entertainment.His recent employment history has focused on executive management as the Executive Director of NABA and co-owner and CEO/Manager of Jonathan Gatz Fitness LLC. He has also served as the VP of Global Development for OutServe (the non-profit association of LGBT in our US Military). "Every day included so many historical and exciting events occurring while working for our active duty LGBT military heroes after the repeal of 'Don't Ask Don't Tell'. I am very proud to have been included in this important American LGBT history with fantastic leaders like Josh Seefried." TJ's own superior leadership helped OutServe win the prestigious 2012 Outie Award from Out & Equal as the best employee resource group in the world.Previous to OutServe, TJ spent 7 years at IGLTA (International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association) as the Global director of Partnerships and Memberships. He educated corporations, destinations and other organizations about LGBT tourism worldwide by creating and presenting IGLTA's "All Welcome" seminar and overseeing the Global Ambassador program. TJ was a featured speaker at ITB, ASTA, NTA, and the NY Times Travel Show to name a few. And represented LGBT Tourism in global cities such as Berlin, Warsaw, Paris, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Orlando, Las Vegas, Monterrey, Chicago, NYC, LA, etc.Prior to that he worked for almost 6 years at Visit Florida where he planned major events for state destinations, accommodations and other travel-related businesses. "I have worked very closely with sales teams from premier resorts along with meeting planners, travel agents, tour operators and corporate executives. In addition to proudly representing major travel destinations to consumers interested in mainstream tourism, group sales, conferences."Previous to that he served as a Regional Manager at 3 AAA Travel locations in Chicago and is also well known in the travel industry for winning the CLIA & Carnival Cruise Lines "Marketing Idea Of The Year Award" in 1997.His knowledge and motivation has not only earned him great awards but has helped many people achieve theirs.
