While watching greats like Hope, Cosby, and Carson, all Tim Wilkins wanted to be when he grew up was a stand-up comedian. Today his dream is more alive than ever as a 20 year veteran stand-up comedian, TV and radio personality, speaker and writer, who has performed on stages around the world. Tim has entertained millions in venues ranging from Radio City Music Hall and the Greek Theatre, to the biggest casinos, cruise ships, and even chow halls in Afghanistan.Although Tim's career path has often led him in the opposite directions than the conventional wisdom, it hasn't prevented him from experiencing all of the successes he'd always hoped for. Starting out in LA, Tim honed his comedy chops on the stages of iconic clubs such as the Laugh Factory and Improv but stage time at those venues was hard to come by. In 1994, when his friend and mentor suggested that he relocate to Florida where there were more "gigs" to be found, Tim packed up his family and took a chance. This move would turn out to be a good one as Tim soon found himself touring the South and developing into a solid act. While on one of these tours, his friend and now comedy superstar, Larry the Cable Guy, introduced Tim to another friend that asked him to open for Earth, Wind, and Fire. Over time this would lead to opening for music, comedy, and entertainment legends such as; Aretha Franklin, The Righteous Brothers, Styx, Wynonna Judd, Olivia Newton John, Hall & Oates, Patti LaBelle, Leon Redbone, Ann Margret, David Cassidy, Isley Brothers, John Berry, Loverboy, Belinda Carlisle, Michael McDonald, Ruben Studdard, Suzy Boguss, Billy Dean, Patty Smyth, Marc Antoine, Richard Elliot, Jeff Golub, Dennis Miller, Bob Newhart, Sinbad, Michael McDonald, Louie Anderson, John Waite, and Kevin Nealon.By combining his comedy with his love of fitness Tim has hosted amateur and professional events including the Mr. Olympia and Fitness Olympia bodybuilding shows seen on ESPN, Fox Sports, and TLC. He has been a fitness and nutrition writer for Muscle and Fitness, Natural Muscle, BodyCheck.com, Shape.com and a keynote speaker for corporations, colleges, and events such as the IDEA World Expo and Perform Better Summits. His book, Laugh Your Abs Off!, was released in Spring of 2013 and has spent time among the Amazon bestseller ranks ever since. In 2005-6 Tim was honored to fulfill his "Bob Hope" dream when his was given the opportunity to strap back on his camouflage and flak jacket as part of the 'Comics on Duty' World Tour, entertaining our troops in Afghanistan, Kyrgystan, and state-side bases. In addition to fitness one of his greatest loves is our world's finest Marine Corps and all of the men and women who wear the uniform of the US. Tim jumps at any chance he can to give back to our troops. After years of making various TV appearances, in 2006 he became the co-host of the Monday-Friday live morning talk show "Studio 10", on the CBS station in Tampa, FL. In addition to the normal local talk show duties, Studio 10 gave him the opportunity to pursue another dream; becoming a TV chef with his healthy recipes on a weekly segment called "Tim Cooks Smart". This garnered Tim and his wife, co-host Michelle Phillips, a Culinary Academy award for best TV presentation in 2009 and a Florida Hall of Fame award for 2011! Currently he can be seen on national TV in the kitchens of HSN.Currently he is the face of MOR TV in Tampa and he also been seen nationally on HBO, ESPN2, Fox Sports, TLC, CW, WE Network, "The Daily Buzz", "BetterTV", "Daytime", Nickelodeon's "NickMom Night Out", and CMT's "Next Big Comic". He can also be heard regularly on Sirius/XM radio's comedy channels. Show less «
