Tim McDonnell was born on October 7th 1975 in Dublin, Ireland. The 2nd youngest of five children born to William, a doctor & Emer, a homemaker. At 18 he played piano in The National Concert hall. He is also a keen guitarist and also dabbles with the clarinet and harmonica. In his early 20's after working in PR for The Independent Group he went travelling around the world for 3 years before coming back to Dublin where he decided to take up photography. He went on to become a very successful & widely published photographer working out of the commercial studio he set up in his home town, the fishing village of Howth, on the peninsula 9 miles from Dublin city. His work has graced the pages of Tatler and numerous Irish publications. He was tour photographer for the band 'The Script' and also taught photography in Windmill Lane Studios. In late 2013 his acting talent was discovered by director Graham Cantwell after he attended a course Graham ran. Ironically at this stage Tim was attending the course purely to get directing tips from an actors perspective. His talent was recognised by others and he quickly landed an agent in Dublin and also another in London where he currently resides. He went on to feature in a number of films as well as starring in, producing & co-writing the soon to be released (2015) short film DogEatDog along with his brother, director, Gavin McDonnell. He also works extensively with the charity SightSavers in Third World countries in Sub-Saharan Africa & Bangladesh and has just recently returned from shooting a documentary in Mozambique with NBC star Eoin Macken.Tim is also a volunteer Search & Rescue Medic with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution with over 8 years experience & currently active on The Thames River in London.
