Hong Kong born So Daan was an appreciated stuntman-action director and character actor in Kung-Fu cinema. He worked mainly for independent companies and was a regular in the movies directed and/or produced by Yeo Ban Yee. Thompson Kao Kang (aka Ko Kung) made a total of 30 action films, usually playing the main villain or the henchman. He debuted in Redress, 1969, and his last picture, An old Kung-Fu Master, was released in 1981, one year later Kao Kang had untimely died murdered by an Hong Kong policeman for a trivial street quarrel. His untimely death caused a strong reaction by HK cinematic community against the violence of local policemen. Kung Fu movie fans usually consider Stranger from Canton, U.S. title The Karate Killers, 1973, his best performance as the evil Mandarin. Show less «
