Tom was six when he first became really interested in acting. He was living near Liverpool at the time and began acting classes there. Within a very few weeks he had his first professional role, as Brian, in Tuppence To Cross the Mersey, in a Liverpool theatre. By the time he was eight he had enjoyed acting in several professional theatre productions, including playing Tiny Tim opposite 'Richard Todd' (Scrooge) in A Christmas Carol.He moved to Newcastle at the age of nine and joined a local acting group at the Tyne Theatre and whilst acting in a local college's production an agent saw him and asked Tom to join his agency which for a boy of ten was very exciting. Tom continued to enjoy acting both at school and at his two acting groups, Tyne Theatre and Stagecoach, Durham. He was lucky because both these groups and his agent sent him on auditions. Over the next year he did various acting roles before getting his first TV role in a Catherine Cookson called Tilly Trotter (1999) playing the role of Matthew Sopwith.He joined First Act Theatre group in Newcastle and enthusiastically joined in many of their productions. The teacher there suggested he audition for Les Miserables when the touring company came to Newcastle which he did and he was delighted to be chosen to play Gavroche, the urchin boy. All the while he lived in the Northeast he had attended local Arts Festivals and participated in a wide variety of classes as well as taking speech examinations with the help of his teacher. He moved to just outside London in 2000 and joined Youngun's Agency, attached to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, London. In early 2001 he filmed Tales of Moral Uplift and Improvement, a dark comedy series about naughty Edwardian children.In May 2002 he was delighted to hear after a series of auditions, that he was going to be playing Mark Hollander, in Ace Lightning (2002) and what's more it was to be filmed in Toronto. He spent the summer and autumn there and really loved every minute, as the cast and crew were all great fun.Since coming home he has concentrated on catching up with work in school, as well as doing small roles in Goodbye, Mr. Chips (2002) (with Martin Clunes) and most recently in Keen Eddie (TV series for Fox/Paramount).
