Choreographer Thomas Michael Voss was born in Wuppertal, Germany. He started his dance training with Ballroom and Latin American Dance at the age of 14. In 1996 he studied Classical Ballet, Flamenco and African Dance at the UCT Ballet School in Cape Town, South Africa and moved to London in 1997. In London Thomas Michael Voss continued his dance training on a three years course at Trinity Laban and studied Contemporary Dance, Improvisation and Dance Theatre, graduating in 2000.After his graduation he worked as a freelance dancer for over 8 years all around the world. Thomas Michael Voss danced with stars such as Mariah Carey, the Scissor Sisters at the Brit Awards, the Darkness, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, the Muse and Kym Marsh. He performed at the Cologne Opera House, the Royal Opera House, the English National Opera, the Drury Lane Theatre, King Sejong Theatre, Korea, the Wales Milenium Centre, the Landestheater Innsbruck, Austria. He danced with the Ahn, Ae-Soon Contemporary Dance Company, Korea, the Choi, Du-Hyuk Contemporary Dance Company, the London City Ballet, toured Spain with a production of the Fairy Queen, danced in two Bollywood movies and in the opening ceremony for the Aspire Stadium in Doha, Qatar. Thomas Michael Voss's appeared in a commercial for Escada and his musical theatre credits are La Cage Aux Folles, South Pacific (Craig Revel - Horwood), The Rocky Horror Show and Guys and Dolls.Thomas Michael Voss's movie credits include: The Young Victoria (German Dance Master), Ella Enchanted (Dancer) directed by Tommy O'Haver 2002, What a Girl Wants (Dancer) directed by Dennie Gordon 2002, Another Life (Dancer), directed by Philip Goodhew 2001, The Other Boleyn Girl (Dancer), Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (Dancer), and Sweeney Todd (Dancer).Thomas Michael Voss played Alexander the Great in a documentary about Alexander the Great for Channel 5 UK and Discovery Channel USA, directed by Chris Lethbridge. In 2004 Thomas Michael Voss was the head judge for the panel talent show Extraordinary Dancer, Sky1.Having turned choreographer in 2005, Thomas Michael Voss has written and choreographed Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton's fitness DVD Anthony's 70s Disco Workout, directed by Dave Skinner, Universal.. Since then Thomas Michael Voss choreographed commercials for Samsung, Nintendo, Westfield, Southern Comfort, Moben, Slim Fast, P&O, Wink Bingo, Ibuleve, Aunt Bessie's and music videos for Mark Ronson, Craig David, Lily Allen, James Blunt, Yoav, Ali Love, Leon Jackson, Ministry Of Sound. Thomas Michael Voss was the Ballroom consultant on the musical A little Night Music (Trevor Nunn) and choreographed the movies Tube, Korea and How to Lose Friends and Alienate People with Kirsten Dunst and Simon Pegg in 2007, directed by Robert B. Weide.Thomas Michael Voss has received an award nomination for the musical Princess Ida, Finborough Theatre for Best Choreographer in 2015 and other musical theatre choreography credits include Saturday Night, Spelling Bee, Finian's Rainbow and Mile High.He also specialises in Ballroom and Latin American Dance and has worked for BBC's Strictly, Children in Need and Comic Relief on several occasions.
