Thelma Umuneoma "Ummie" Nwosu is a film, TV, voice-over actress and model based in Lagos, Nigeria. As of September 2020, Thelma has 26 years of professional experience in the Nollywood Industry. Read at the University of Port Harcourt Nigeria, she has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts majoring in Film Directing. She also has a diploma in Acting, Voice and Speech. As a student, she was also a member of dance troupes that performed at major theaters, government events, private functions, etc.Her first professional experiences as an actress were in the 1994 movie "Frame Up" and the 1996 movie "Glamor Girls 2 - Italian Connection", both directed by Chika Onukwufor. She has worked alongside numerous well-known Nollywood figures in various lead and supporting roles - Funke Akindele-Bello, Patience Ozokwor, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Zack Orji, Funso Adeolu, Jackie Appiah, Van Vicker, Stephanie Okereke, Ramsey Noah, Monalisa Chinda-Coker, Sola Sobowale, Genevive Nnaji, Victor Olaotan, Rita Dominic, Ngozi Ezeonu, Kanayo Kanayo, Mike Ezuruonye, Joseph Benjamin, Jide Kosoko, etc. She has worked with several notable tv/film producers and directors- Kenneth Nnebue, "Kas-Vid", Andy best, Ernest Obi, Kingsley Omoefe, Opa Williams, Usuf Bello (Jjcskills),Pat Oghere Imohbio, Akin Harrison, James Omokwe, Ken Steve Anoka, Ikechukwu Onyeka, Ekenna Igwe, Adim Williams, Kalu Anya, Kabbat Esosa, Sanchez Aghaghowa, Rogers Ofime, Pascal Amanfo.(September, 2020) Thelma worked on AfricanMagic's large telenovela hit production "Riona - Fighting Fate" in the lead role "Queen Idolor" by executive producer James Omokwe. "Riona" airs on the African DSTv channel "AfricanMagic Showcase" (channel 151) daily at 8:00 p.m. GMT.Thelma always knew she was born to be in front of the camera. Her camera-comfortable traits started showing when she was in high school, starting with a lot of recorded singing and dance productions during school events. Born the third child of her educationist parents Sunday Nwosu (a college instructor) and Josephine Nwosu (a secondary school principal), she hails from Elu-Obayi Ovim in Southeastern Nigeria. She has starred and featured in numerous movies and TV shows, and still stays quite busy. She has also done extensive voice over work, as well as modelling work for major product and service companies in Nigeria.The favorite genres Thelma likes to work in include - action, romance comedy, crime, drama, historical, and thriller.
