Tj Shilo was born Temujin Lee Erin Shilo to Lee E. Shilo and Sonia DeFrias in Victoria, BC. At age 26 he moved to Vancouver with his now wife, Janel Doyle, to pursue a career in Special Effects Make Up, attending Blanche MacDonald Make Up Academy. After graduating, he chased as many FXMU gigs as he could, mostly volunteer work on low budget short films and student films. As the motion picture industry in Vancouver at the time was still relatively stale, finding paid work in an already small niche craft was proving difficult. With the agonizing decision to shelf his new found passion, he shifted his efforts towards helping his wife build up her interior design and home build business. Tj spent the next 6 years at his wife's side helping her, while assuming various bar-tending jobs. In 2015, Tj was approached by his neighbor Kyle T. Moore, who at the time was already an established SPFX film technician and had began coordinating his own shows. He extended his olive branch out to Tj and quickly took him under his wing as an apprentice so-to-speak. Since then, Tj has worked on many different shows, all varying in different degrees of SPFX intensity. In 2017, he made Member Status out of IATSE Local 891. He has one son, Lincoln Shilo and has been with his loving wife since 2001. Show less «
