Tavis Bohlinger is one of the few natives of Los Angeles living in the city. He discovered his passion for acting and writing at a young age, although most of his childhood was spent playing sports, working on cattle ranches, and reading. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, he began pursuing an acting career with vigor, clinching the leading roles in over a dozen independent features and shorts his first year alone.Commercial success began quickly, with Tavis booking a national commercial directed by Michele Gondry's brother, Olivier Gondry, within a month of securing representation. He just finished working with Christopher Guest on an Intel commercial, where he was able to fully utilize his guitar playing and improv skills. Tavis also recently completed a seven-episode recurring guest star role as Mark "Doc" Jones on the hit NBC show "E-Ring". On the set of the show, he met Ken Robinson and Jared Chandler, who cast him in the starring role of Poet in his short, "Poet's War", which is being made into a feature-length film for Regent Entertainment and Upload Films. Tavis is attached to star, and will be providing three of his original songs for the soundtrack.Tavis is also an acclaimed singer/songwriter, with a number of awards to his credit. At the 2006 L.A. Music Awards and the 2007 Southern California Live Music Awards, he garnered a 2nd place win for Best Male Singer/Songwriter and the Fan Favorite award respectively. His rustic, earnest style has been very sought after in the independent film market, and in addition to composing the soundtracks to a number of high-quality shorts, he also sang vocals for the soundtrack to "The Half Life of Timofy Berezin", starring Paddy Considine.He is also a prolific writer, and has a handful of screenplays in development that have drawn interest from a number of leading actors and well-known producers.
